Sakura Ferroalloys is investing in a new sinter plant at our smelting operation in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu.
A sinter plant upgrades manganese ore fines through a sintering process with coke to produce sintered manganese ore lump. This lowers the cost of producing manganese alloys and improves furnace productivity, helping us optimise raw-material use and stabilise production performance.
