Who we are

A Sarawak-based manufacturer of high carbon ferro-manganese and silico-manganese, built on safety, quality and a commitment to the communities around us.

Sakura Ferroalloys turns manganese ore into the alloys that make stronger steel, from one of the most modern smelting sites in the region.

Established in 2013 and in production since 2016, Sakura operates two 81 MVA closed submerged-arc furnaces in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu, Sarawak, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 to 255,000 tonnes. We have grown into the largest seaborne exporter of high carbon ferro-manganese (HCFeMn), supplying major steel markets across the USA, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, India, Australia and the Middle East.

We handle the whole chain ourselves, from the receipt of raw materials through manufacturing, storage, bagging and container stuffing to logistics, and we have expanded into briquetting, sintering and sizing. What ties it together is a simple idea printed under our name: your company of choice. We aim to be the supplier customers reach for first, the employer people want to build a career with, and a good neighbour to the communities that host us. Of our 308 employees, 94% are Sarawakian.
